RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS MY FOOT

This is the story of one man’s long and arduous journey over eighteen years after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Suffering pain, limited physical mobility, deformity and depression, he became determined to not let his condition conquer him. He wanted to continue to work, to be involved with his family’s activities, to be mentally and physically strong.

His treatments by medical professionals—including a chiropractor, physician, internist, rheumatologist, ophthalmologist, podiatrist, orthoist, and ortho-pedorthist –had only limited results as did the medicines and devices they prescribed.

He began experimenting, using kernels of knowledge he had picked up along the way, using his high-school physics, his skills with tools in his home workshop. There were several “aha” moments along the way that changed his course of action. He learned what worked and what did not.

Finally, finally, finally… he developed a way to eliminate his pain without medication. He was able to combine a method with a few low-cost materials and end the excruciating pain he had endured for so long. As of the writing of his book, he has been without pain for seven years and continues to work in his mid-70’s. It is his personal desire that this may help to reduce the suffering of those afflicted and assist the medical world in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, popularly known as simply RA.

If you or someone in your care has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, this story will be well worth reading. The theories he developed as to why he became afflicted with this condition and how one part of the body can cause stress that harms other parts of the body have not been at the forefront of RA knowledge and treatment. It is known that chronic inflammation of the synovial membrane of joints and tendons leads to the disfiguration and pain of this condition. Without equivocation or mental reservation, however, removal of the developed device will produce full blown rheumatoid arthritis within 36 to 48 hours.

There have been others in the medical profession who have recognized the significant role feet play in this condition. We can cite a book titled “Foot and Ankle in Rheumatoid Arthritis” authored by Maurice Bouysset, Yves Towne and Karl Tillman that was published by Springer in France in 2006. These men have dedicated their RA research to the foot and ankle, noting that 50% of those afflicted with RA have to stop their professional activities, that lives are typically shortened by 5 to 10 years, and that this disability comes with a huge cost.
